How We Create Content
PetScienceReview is a research-driven editorial publication. Every review is built on a structured 5-step process grounded in safety verification, product analysis, and owner community synthesis.
Our Editorial Team
Combining veterinary science insights with real-world testing to find pet products that truly deliver.
Our Research Process
PetScienceReview content is built on a structured, safety-first research process. Each review begins with a safety and recall check, then moves through product analysis, value assessment, and owner community synthesis before arriving at a final composite score. Affiliate relationships and commissions do not influence editorial conclusions.
Every safety claim is supported by authoritative sources you can verify independently — CPSC, FDA, ASPCA, or peer-reviewed veterinary literature. For full details on our evaluation methodology, see the How We Test page.
Our Content Process
Every review begins with a safety and recall check — we search the CPSC recall database, FDA pet food recalls, and ASPCA toxic substances list before evaluating any product. A product with an active recall or confirmed hazardous ingredient is not recommended regardless of its other qualities.
After safety verification, we analyze the product's materials, construction, and design, assess value relative to comparable alternatives, and synthesize verified owner feedback from pet communities. We do not accept free products in exchange for positive coverage, and affiliate relationships do not influence editorial conclusions.
For full details on how products are scored, see our Review Methodology page.
Our Editorial Standards
Safety-First Research
Every review starts with a safety and recall check — CPSC, FDA, and ASPCA databases — before any product evaluation begins.
Verified Owner Data
We synthesize long-form verified purchase reviews from Amazon, Chewy, and breed-specific communities to capture real-world pet and owner experiences.
Conflicts Disclosed
Affiliate relationships are disclosed on every article. We only recommend products that meet our editorial standards, regardless of commission structure.
Regular Updates
Products get recalled and formulations change. We update recommendations when the evidence changes, and immediately flag any newly discovered safety concerns.
